The Guardia Civil is searching for the crew of a boat that was found in Ibiza with more than 500 kilos of cocaine after the occupants fled, even attempting to ram a Guardia Civil patrol boat.
According to a statement issued by the Guardia Civil, on Saturday morning a patrol observed a boat in the Porroig area from land that aroused the officers’ suspicions, so they notified the Guardia Civil Maritime Service.
Once informed, they went to the location and the patrol continued sailing parallel to the coast until they reached the Torre des Carregador area.
The alleged traffickers, upon seeing the Maritime Service boat, headed for the beach, abandoning the boat in a hurry, but not before attempting to ram the patrol boat.
Once the boat had been inspected, 21 bales containing cocaine were found inside one of the cabins. The Guardia Civil is conducting an investigation to locate and arrest the people who were travelling inside the boat.
