Yellow heat alert for the interior on Monday; effective from noon to 7pm, maximums of 37C. There's also a yellow alert for the interior on Tuesday, as there no doubt will be throughout the week. The alerts could well be extended to other parts, and amber warnings later in the week are possible.

No sign at all of any change this week; sun all the way with some occasional cloud. Breezes generally no more than gentle. Overnight temperatures will continue to be no lower than 20C for much of the island.

Mainland high of 42.9C on Sunday; once more in the Huesca province of Aragon.
