A year ago, Richard Gere and his family were some of the first guests at the new luxury Four Seasons Formentor Hotel when it opened its doors for a ‘soft opening’. Artists and icons of the 20th century such as Winston Churchill, John Wayne, Charles Chaplin and Edward Windsor, the Dalai Lama, Elizabeth Taylor, Sir Peter Ustinov and Audrey Hepburn have stayed at the hotel.
And, Formentor beach is an integral part of this magical enclave. Surrounded by lush Mediterranean pine forests, the beach dazzles with the purity of its turquoise waters and the immaculate texture of its sand. Its relative inaccessibility and limited capacity allow for peaceful and exclusive days away from the usual summer hustle and bustle of Spain’s beaches.
This spot continues to gain notoriety not only for its scenic beauty, but also because it offers activities such as snorkelling, paddle surfing or simple walks under the shade of the trees. In summer, exclusivity is reinforced by traffic regulations and capacity limits, ensuring both the protection of the natural heritage and a relaxing experience for guests and visitors.
And shortly after, Gere and his family moved to Madrid. Richard Gere sold his Connecticut home for $10.75 million as part of his plans to relocate to Madrid, a decision he shared in an interview with Vanity Fair Spain. Gere, who had lived in the property with his wife Alejandra Silva for two years, expressed a desire to spend more time in Spain to be closer to Silva’s family and culture. “She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers,” he said.
“I love Spain and the ability of the Spanish people to live transmitting joy and happiness,” he said.
And now, The Pretty Woman actor has surprised all his fans by revealing the traditional Spanish dish that drives him crazy. In several recent interviews, Richard Gere hasn’t hesitated to confess what his favorite dish is. “I really like tortilla; in general, I like everything. And also the pasta my wife makes.”
