Jaime Anglada, the popular Mallorcan singer and guitarist - he is a favourite of King Felipe and Queen Letizia - remains in a serious but stable condition in intensive care following a collision between his motorbike and a car in the early hours of Friday morning.
The driver of the Seat Arona, who left the scene of the accident in Palma, has been remanded in custody without bail.
He performed an illegal manouevre on the Avda. Joan Miró and collided with the bike. The judge says he failed to take the "simple precaution of looking down the road in the opposite direction of travel". Various witnesses gave the police the car's licence-plate number. He maintained that he did not see the bike.
Police located him not long afterwards. He tested positive for alcohol; more than double the legal limit.
